Exploring Outside In

On my way home from work today, I began to think about exploration. I have been living in Minnesota my whole life and Minneapolis or St. Paul for the last 9 years. I have explored much of Minnesota and know it like the back of my hand.

It is easy to explore the outside world as opposed to the inside world of ourselves. Both are risky. Exploring the outside world may face you with difficult challenges and hard physical work, but is easy to find beautiful places.

Exploring what is inside of you is emotional, vulnerable and enduring work. I have done much exploring of myself as well, but am not finished. It is not always beautiful, nor is inviting. It may be the ugliest of places. But what we find at the end of it may be the most rewarding and powerful of experiences.

I am exploring...myself, God, life, people, relationships, places, religion...and I am learning. I am on a journey of discovery. This is a place for me to share the learnings: the joys, the hardships, the new things. Going deeper and living life with meaning. Now that is beautiful.
